In addition to winning the Men’s Overall Team Championship and the Men’s Varsity Championship, several members of the Bucknell University Men’s Crew team were awarded for their work and efforts on the water in the classroom at the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championship Regatta this past weekend.
Every year, the MARC identifies athletes within the conference who have had outstanding athletic achievements. This year, John Leasure ’19 and Andrew Stonnington ’19 were honored as 2019 All Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Varsity Athletes. Additionally, Philip Onffroy ’22 was honored as a 2019 All Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Novice Athlete.
The MARC also identifies those individuals who have excelled in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must a) have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, b) be in their second, third, or fourth year of eligibility, AND c) must have competed in 75% of the varsity competitions or competed in the MARC Championships. This year, Bucknell is proud to announce that John Leasure ’19, Sam Jacob ’20, Will Perry ’21, and Jackson Ingram ’21 have been honored as 2019 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Academic All-Conference Student-Athletes.
Bucknell is also proud to announce that Head Coach Dan Wolleben was Awarded the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Men’s Coach of the Year after leading the team to winning the MARC Championships for the second time in team history.
