The program kicked off its fall racing in Rochester, NY last weekend, fielding five boats total for the 5k race. Conditions were warm with minimal wind.
Beginning the day was the varsity four which placed 12th out of the 20 entries. Next was the varsity eight. While the boat placed 3rd out of eight, the crew came off the water attune to its ceiling and room to develop. Following the varsity eight was a combined 2V/3V category which included the team’s second and third varsity eights. The 2V and 3V placed 2nd and 5th respectively out of seven. Concluding the afternoon was the freshman eight which exclusively consisted of novice rowers with just one month of experience. The crew finished 3rd of 8, satisfied with their performance yet eager to develop more speed.
Next on tap is the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on October 19 & 20. The team is set to compete in the men’s collegiate eight, men’s collegiate four, and men’s alumni eight.
