Steve Ritchie ’97

Steve graduated in 1997 after a four-year rowing career. As a charter member of the BCA he has been involved in fundraising and university and alumni relations. He received a B.S.B.A. in Management from Bucknell and an MBA from Georgetown University in 2004.  Steve currently works in life sciences and financial technology consulting with experience in strategy, operations, and governance.

Frank Rosenthal ’07

Frank graduated with a B.A. in Biology after rowing for 4 years, including serving as co-captain his senior year. After Bucknell, he completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and now owns a sports physical therapy clinic in Maryland. He lives with his wife and 3 children outside of Baltimore, where he started a rowing team at his former high school and currently is serving as head coach.

Kells Green ’10 (Vice President)

Kells is an investment banking professional with Jefferies LLC in New York City.  Since joining Jefferies, Kells has executed over 60 transactions raising in excess of $7.0 billion of capital for public and private issuers.  A Class of 2010 graduate with a BSBA in Finance, he has been building his banking career ever since.  Kells was the varsity coxswain at Bucknell and a member of the first Dad Vail gold medal 8 in program history.

Kyle Lafferty ’10

Kyle started rowing as a freshman at Bucknell in Fall 2007 and was a member of the Dad Vail Champion Freshman 8+ in 2008.  He served as team captain his senior year, and rowed in the Varsity 8+ that placed 2nd at the ACRA National Championships.  After graduating in 2010 with a degree in Economics, Kyle continued training with Riverside Boat Club in Boston and later with the Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s Green Racing Project in Vermont. Kyle also competed with the US National Team in the Lightweight Pair and Lightweight Quad in 2011 and 2014.

Kyle currently works as a Manager for Synerfac Technical Staffing based in New Castle, Delaware.

Tom Bernardi ’11

Tom graduated from Bucknell in 2011 after a four year rowing career.  He received a B.A. in Economics and History and served as team co-captain his senior year.  After college, Tom worked as a Securities Analyst in the Wealth Management Department at MB Financial Bank.  Tom is currently the Director of Portfolio Management at Bernardi Securities, Inc. and is a CFA® charterholder.

Hugh Shepard ’11

Hugh graduated from Bucknell in 2011 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering after a four year career with Bucknell Men’s Crew, including serving as the team captain in his senior year.  After leaving Bucknell, Hugh spent several years in the construction industry working for a national general contracting firm in the Washington, D.C. area before moving on to pursue an M.B.A. at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.  Hugh graduated from Darden in 2016 and is currently an investment banking professional in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Marc Burian ’12 (President)

Marc graduated from Bucknell in 2012 after a four year rowing career.  He received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University, and was captain of the team his senior year.  He currently lives in New York City and works for Morgan Stanley.

Crawford Morris ’15

Crawford graduated from Bucknell in 2015 with a B.A. in Psychology after serving as co-captain his senior year. During his rowing career, he earned the titles of ACRA All-American and ECAC Academic All-American. Following graduation, Crawford completed the Tuck Business Bridge Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth before moving to New York City.  He currently works as a Director for Evermore, a global investment manager.

Billy Tyler ’15 (Secretary)

Billy graduated from Bucknell in 2015 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering after a four year rowing career with Bucknell Men’s Crew. After graduating Bucknell, Billy took a job with DPR Construction, a commercial general contractor, in Austin, TX. Two years ago, Billy moved to Durham, NC where he now works as a transportation engineer for Kimley-Horn, a national engineering consulting firm.

Dillon LaFata ’18

Dillon graduated in 2018 after a four year rowing career at Bucknell with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.  During his four years he served as co-captain his junior year and captain his senior year.  He was also elected to the 1st ACRA All American team his junior year.  Dillon currently works a a field engineer for Clark Construction.

Mike Pallotta ’18

Mike graduated from Bucknell in 2018 after rowing for the program for 4 years.  During his four years, he served as Co-Rent-a-Rower chair as a Sophomore and Team Captain as a Junior. He earned the title of ACRA 3rd Team All-American at the end of his senior year in 2018.  He received a BS in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Materials from Bucknell in 2018.  He currently works at Corning Incorporated as a Chemical Process Engineer in Corning, New York.

Dan Wolleben (Head Coach)

Dan joined the team as head coach after a seven year successful coaching stint as an assistant coach with the Bucknell Women’s Rowing program.  Before that he coached at his alma mater, Fordham University, after a distinguished rowing career that saw him collect three Dad Vail Gold medals, one ECAC gold medal, and compete in two IRA Grand Finals.  Dan was inducted into the Fordham University Athletic Department Hall of Fame in 2012.  You can read more about him on the coaches page.
