Events

BCA Executive Meetings have become regular teleconferences; however, executive sessions with the BCA leadership and general membership meetings open to all men's crew supporters are frequently scheduled in coordination with team events on campus. Please stay tuned for future BCA meetings and let us know if you would be interested in participating in these meetings.

All alumni of Bucknell and of Bucknell Men's and Women's crew teams are invited to attend any of the regattas in which the Men's crew team competes. Over the course of the fall and spring seasons, the team typically travels to or near Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York City, and other smaller cities in the northeast. To find an upcoming race near you, please look at the current competitive schedule on the team's webpage here (http://www.orgs.bucknell.edu/crew/races.html).

October 3-5, 2008

In 1982 the Bucknell Men's and Women's Crew teams were founded and began intercollegiate competition. Since then, both teams have had numerous races and victories with hundreds of rowers, coxswains, and coaches. On October 3rd - 5th, 2008, the Bucknell Men's and Women's Crew teams jointly hosted a 25th anniversary celebration and reunion in Lewisburg. All alumni, rowers, parents, and supporters of the teams were invited back to campus for a weekend of celebration and reconnecting with Bucknell Crew friends, new and old.

All rowing alumni, parents and friends of rowing at Bucknell University are invited to come back to Lewisburg this fall to celebrate the 25th anniversary of rowing at Bucknell! The schedule for the two-day event includes:

May 11-12, 2007

Alumni gathered at an alumni tent on the Schuylkill River to support the Men's team's 2 eights and 1 Varsity 4 at the 2007 Dad Vail Regatta. Those on hand for the event were lucky enough to witness the freshman 8's Dad Vail championship performance.

In addition to catching up at regattas and cheering on the current team, the Men's team alumni enjoys catching up in other social venues.

Fall 2005

In the fall of 2005, Head Coach Paul Bugenhagen was newly hired and was eager to meet with as many of the crew alumni as his schedule allowed. Meet The Coach events were held in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia for area alumni to reconnect with each other and to meet Coach Bugenhagen for the first time.

May 14-16, 2004

The biggest rower/alumni gathering since the 15-year anniversary in 1998 took place on the weekend of May 14th, 2004. Over 50 past and present Men's and Women's team rowers attended with their friends and families for a celebration of Bucknell Crew!

Events included gathering at everyone's favorite local watering hole, barbecuing at the boathouse, campus tours of the new athletic facility, and a formal dinner banquet for all attendees filled with photos and videos of the past, present, and future of rowing at Bucknell. An additional thrill enjoyed by many alumni in attendance was suiting up for one more row on the Susquehanna for an alumni race! The alumni race featured three boats of Men's alumni and current rowers and one boat of Women's alumnni and current rowers and was won by a boat filled with male graduates mostly from the mid- to late-1990's.
