Bucknell Men Compete in Princeton Against Hobart, Georgetown

   The Bucknell Bison Men competed in Princeton, NJ this past Saturday, April 19th against Hobart College and Georgetown University on Lake Carnegie, home water of Princeton University. Weather conditions were clear with sunny skies and a strong headwind from the north at 12mph throughout most of the racing.   The first Bucknell Crew to compete was the Varsity 8+ against the likes of nationally ranked #20 Hobart College.

Bison Men Have Strong Team Result at Knecht Cup

The Bucknell Men competed in their first major regatta of the spring season this past Saturday and Sunday, April 12th-13th at the Knecht Cup Regatta hosted by Villanova University on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, NJ.  The first event contested by the Bison was that of the Men’s Freshman/Novice 4+, the crew composed of Stroke Nick Barpoulis, Cooper Josephs, Robert Wilson, Victor Young and Cox Richard Saunders advanced comfortably though their opening heat to advance into the semi-final, which saw them out duel Bowdoin University for the win to advance to the Grand Final.

Bucknell Men Race in Philadelphia at Season Opener

  The Bucknell Men had their first official outing of the 2014 spring season this past Saturday, April 5th in a double-dual against Temple and St. Joseph’s Universities on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa.

Bison Compete at Rutgers Fall Classic

  The Bucknell Men competed in their final regatta of the fall season on Saturday, November 9th at the Rutgers Fall Classic on the Raritan River in New Brunswick, NJ.

Bucknell Men Compete at Inaugural Cornell Autumn Classic

  The Bucknell Men were invited to Ithaca, NY this past weekend to compete in the Cornell Autumn Classic, held on the Canal leading into Lake Cayuga on Satuday, November 2nd.  This is the first time such a regatta has been held by Cornell University, with most athletes racing twice in events ranging from singles, to pair, fours and eights.

Bison Men Have Strong Showing at Head of the Charles

   The Bucknell Men competed this past weekend of October 19-20 at the Head of the Charles Regatta, the largest 2-day regatta in the world hosted in Boston, MA on the Charles River.    The first of the two Bucknell crews to race was the 2nd Varsity 8+, competing in the Club 8+ Event on saturday afternoon. With clear skies and a consistent head wind out of the west, the Bison 2V composed of  Soph. Cox Kate Rolfes, Soph. Stroke Ryan Thompson, Sr. Ethan Zubkoff, Soph. Nate Coffin, Fr. Lucas Colagrossi, Fr. Scott Serpico, Jr. Tyler Bogaczyk, Jr. Will Fierman and Soph.

Bison Men Open Fall Season on Home Water

  The Bucknell Men competed in their first race of the fall season on home water at the Bucknell Fall Invitational on October 5th in Shamokin Dam, PA on the Susquehanna River – competing against crews from Drexel and Lehigh.  The style of racing was rather unusual with various boat classes racing different distances and starting at the same time, with the Varsity 8+’s racing the furthest (approx. 5.5k) and the 2nd and 3rd freshman boats racing the shortest (approx. 5k). With 13 8+’s starting at once, racing was a sight to behold, with fierce competition between all crews.

Team Milestone - Freshman Gold for Bison at ACRA

  The Bucknell Men competed in their final regatta of the 2013 season over the Memorial Day weekend on the site of the 1996 Olympic Regatta on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia. Calm winds, clear skies and cool temperatures in the mid 70’s promised a weekend of great racing. The Bison men competed in the widest variety events to date, entering the Varsity 8+, 2nd Varsity 8+, Varsity 2-, Varsity 2x, and Freshman 4+.
 

Bucknell Rowing Tackles Dad Vail / ECAC Double Regatta Weekend

  The Bucknell Men tackled the grueling double-regatta weekend by attending both the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa on the Friday and Saturday of May 10-11 and the ECAC Regatta held in Worcester, Ma on Sunday, May 12th. Bucknell was one of only two programs to attempt the Dad Vail / ECAC Double.

Bucknell Men Perform on Double-Race Weekend

  The Bucknell Men had a busy weekend in Massachusetts, first traveling to Pittston, MA to dual Williams College on Lake Onota on Saturday, the 27th. The weather was perfect for racing with clear skies and temperatures in the low 60’s, variable cross/head winds and flat water.
  The first event of the day was of the Third Varsity 8+’s, which saw the Bison 3V jump out to a commanding lead early in the first 500m where they would continue to pull away to finish with a time of 6:19.8, 22.6 seconds ahead of the Williams 3V following in 6:42.4.
