Bucknell Men Show Continued Growth, Earn 3 Grand Final Berths at Knecht Cup

The Bucknell Men competed in their third regatta of the 2015 season this past weekend, April 11th and 12th, at the Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, NJ. Despite bright sunshine and warm temperatures , high winds disrupted the racing schedule. Most of the Saturday racing was cancelled, and the varsity eight heats were moved to Saturday evening, while freshmen racing was suspended until Sunday.

Frosh Eight Sweep, Varsity Eights Continue to Close Gaps

The Bucknell Men competed in their second regatta of the 2015 season this past Saturday, April 4th in a double-duel against Temple and St. Joseph’s Universities on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, PA. 

Bucknell Men Open Season at Murphy Cup

The Bucknell Men competed in their first official regatta of the spring season on Saturday, March 28th at the 33rd annual Murphy Cup Regatta on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Typical March weather ensured strong winds and challenging racing conditions, but all crews were excited to race after a long winter.  With everyone experiencing a longer "winter" than usual, many area races were canceled, which moved many teams to the Murphy Cup this year.

Varsity 4's Win Rutgers Fall Classic - Freshman 8's place 4th

The Bucknell Men competed in their final regatta of the fall season on Saturday, November 8th at the 5th Annual Rutgers Fall Classic on the Raritan River in New Brunswick, NJ.  The weather cooperated, especially for a race in November, with clear skies, light winds, and favorable racing conditions.  The first of the two events that the Bison competed in was the Men's Varsity 4+.

Team Competes at the 50th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta

The Bucknell Men competed in the 50th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta on October 18th and 19th.  The Head of the Charles is the largest 2-day regatta in the world, and brings in some of the best rowers in the world to the premier fall race.  The first Bucknell boat to compete on the weekend was the Alumni 8 composed of Jackson McCarron ’14, Michael Sena ’12, Matt Sisto ’14, John Kauffman ‘ 11, Rob Blakemore ‘08, Paul DeGregorio ’13,  Andy McLaughlin ’12, and Ethan Zubkoff ’14.  The Alumni went on to finish 25th out of 55 entries in a time of 16:26.99.  This finish, in the top half of the

Bucknell Men Open Fall Season at Home

The Bucknell Men open the fall racing season at home with the Bucknell Fall Invitational on October 5th in Shamokin Dam, PA on the Susquehanna River – competing against crews from Drexel University and Lehigh University.This was the second year in a row that Bucknell has run this race with Drexel and Lehigh, and the style of racing is unusual for the fall, with various boat classes racing different distances and starting at the same time, with the Varsity 8+’s racing the furthest (approx. 5.5k) and the 2nd and 3rd freshman boats racing the shortest (approx. 5k).

Bucknell Men Complete Spring Season at ACRA

  The Bucknell Men completed their regular-season in Gainesville, Ga at the 1996 Olympic venue on Lake Lanier over the Memorial Day weekend. Weather was favorable with temps in the high 80’s and slight tailwind conditions on both days of racing.  The racing on Saturday was heats and reps only, and the Bison men were in position to advance to Sunday with each of the three crews entered only having to race once.

Bison Men Tackle Dad Vail / ECAC Double Regatta Weekend

  The Bucknell Men’s Rowing program tackled one of the most difficult regatta weekends in modern rowing, Competing in both the Dad Vail Regatta (Held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa on May 9th-10th) and the ECAC National Championship Regatta Held in Worcester, Ma on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, May 11th.  The 3-day bout of racing began on Friday morning with the Varsity 8+ winning their heat against Grand Valley State to advance to the semi-final, the Freshman 4+ winning their heat comfortably and the 2nd Varsity Finishing 2nd behind Michigan to advance to their semi-final as we

Bison Dual Vs. Williams, Holy Cross

  The Bucknell Men headed north to Massachusetts this past weekend to compete in two dual meets against the likes of Williams College and College of the Holy Cross.
